Prom & Jr/Sr Banquet

So here's another installment in my walk down memory lane posts! In case you missed my last one, make sure to check it out for tons of pictures from my cheerleading days

So for 12 years, I went to a private, Christian school, from Kindergarten to Senior year. We did things a little differently there, especially concerning prom and the likes... The school put on a banquet for us, called simply, the Jr./Sr. Banquet. We got dressed up, ate dinner, watched some skits and the "senior video." But then it was the responsibility of the parents to put on an actual prom for us, so we got two fancy events at the end of junior and senior years! So here first (when I'm in purple) is the banquet from my senior year, and below that (when I'm in black) is prom from senior year too!

Wow - the quality of this picture is pretty awful. Whatever, I'm leaving it on here anyways...

Did any of y'all who went to private, Christian schools have this kind of banquet as well? Or was it just my little school? Or even if you went to public schools, what kind of celebrations did you have - "normal" prom-type things, or something different?!

Yeah for private Christian schools! We had JR/SR banquet too but by that time I was already dual enrolled so I only went as a friend's date my JR year. My favorite thing was our sports banquet every year. We all dressed up for that too.

Also the first time I experience prom was when I had to interpret for one. I was not disappointed that I never had one of my own after seeing that, haha.

I went to a public school.. and we had prom that was pretty "normal" I suppose, everyone was invited, Freshman thru Seniors, but it was the "Junior" Prom.

I really like the black dress.

I went to public school, so there was a prom, but it was a big joke. Proms are over-rated. Most of the couples stood around and a dark room and hardly danced, since the DJ mostly played rap music (hardly any romantic songs, country, pop, etc.). I would have had more fun staying home and watching movies. :)
