Piano Guys, Pentatonix & Other Cool Stuffs

Well my fiance has always loved watching all sorts of random videos on YouTube, but I've just never really been quite as into it as he is. He has watched probably thousands and thousands of videos over the last five or so years, where I've probably only watched a couple hundred, max. But there definitely are some videos that are just way too awesome not to share.

So today, I'm doing Things I love Thursday, with a special theme of really cool musical stuffs. There are only six videos below, so I say if you have time, you should definitely watch every single one of them. It's for me to even pick a favorite, because they're just all so awesome!

And if this last video by Kina Grannis is one of the ones you watched, you should also checking out the making of this video as  well, because it's very impressive. I mean, that's a lot of jelly beans people.

Do y'all like just sitting around watching YouTube videos? That's what we did last night for about an hour or so, and it was actually really fun. We hopped and skipped around to all sorts of stuff, just having a good time and singing along to lots of videos. And we found some cool new stuff, so it was a fun time!

What are some of your favorite YouTube videos you think are worth me checking out? I'm already craving another video-watching-session, so that might be happening again by tonight, so let me know some good ones!

Much Love,
Halie

Pace is So Crazy, Race is So Worth It

It's incredibly strange and weird and amazing and fantastic that today is my little sister's wedding day!! While putting this video together, I had so much fun looking through these old pictures, but then balled like a baby when I put the music in and then watched the whole thing as an actual video. It was extremely emotion, and it definitely got to me!

I really wish I would have had time to go through our super ooooolllddd pictures to scan in, and include those too. But I didn't start this project soon enough, and just ran out of time! But even still, these pictures date back to circa 2004 or so, about the time when she was 13 and I was 16 years old. Such great memories.

And the first song on this video is one that we used to looooved singing along to. Aly & AJ were some of our very favorites back in the day. We would blare them so loud in my first car, and drive around town together singing at the top of our lungs. One time, Meg even drew me a picture of us two in my car, with these lyrics written around it. It was so cute and so sweet. I wish I could find that now! I know I saved it somewhere, but I'm just not sure where.

I'm so happy for my little baby sister, and I am so proud of the grown-up woman she has become. She is my absolute best friend, and I'm so so glad and thankful for the relationship we have. I wish you all the best in the whole wide world, Meg! I will always be here for you, no matter what. I hope you know that. You mean so, so very much to me! Happy Wedding Day, Mabie!!! I love you!!

Life is amazing with you on the ride, Megan!! Love you!!

Proclaim

Again, music spoke to me last night during youth. There's just something about praise and worship music that can get my attention and make me focus in on God just a little bit more than normal. Even if it's only for a few minutes before I get distracted by an out-of-control sixth-grade boy... The power-ballad style of praise and worship is probably my favorite, and last night it was the following words that really caught my attention in just such a song.

"You are more, You are more
Than my words will ever say.
You are Lord, You are Lord
All creation will proclaim!"

Check out this video and listen to the song "Forever Reign" by Hillsong, where those lyrics above come from...

Another one of my favorite lyrics from that song is "You are Light, You are Light, You have covered all my sin." And I like that because (News Flash!!), I've got a lot of sin that needs covering. I mean, don't we all? Can we all just be honest and real about that? But here's the awesome part, we can RUN into His arms, and He will accept and comfort and forgive us. There is literally nothing that can compare to His loving and just embrace. Nothing.

But back to the "proclaiming" part... it is our job as humans to worship and praise His holy name. Because if we don't, the Bible tells us that even the rocks and hills will cry out to magnify Him. Check out this little excerpt from Luke when Jesus was entering Jerusalem (or in church-speak = The Triumphal Entry)...

"As he was drawing near - already on the way down the Mount of Olives - the whole multitude of disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, 'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!' And some of the pharisees in the crowd said to him, 'Teacher, rebuke your disciples.' He answered, 'I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.' " Luke 19:36-40

So you're telling me that if people weren't worshiping and glorifying our God, that rocks and stones and hills would do it instead? How crazy is that? Does that show you how important worship is? I've heard these verses before, and I understood them then, but today I think my eyes have been opened up just a little bit more, and I've got a new perspective on it now. Isn't it amazing when scripture that we've heard "a million times" stops being just words, and becomes reality? It's amazing how the Holy Spirit works sometimes, huh?

(I hope my thoughts haven't been too jumbled today. It feels like I was a bit all over the place here...)

Penguins Laugh Too

My sweet friend Jenni thought of me when she saw this the other day, and posted it on my Facebook wall. And it is just the cutest little thing. It starts out kinda squeaky, but then it just get's precious. It made me laugh and coo and get all silly and giggly, and I loved it. Check it out...

I don't think I realized that penguins can laugh like people do, but apparently they can! And apparently they can also be tickled. This just makes me love those little black-and-white feathered birds even more. So stinking cute! Who wants to buy me one?? Please and thank you :)

Penguin love to my dear friends and family :)
